We write the software that keeps plants running.
Interial was born and works in the Brescia area, in the middle of the manufacturing and plant engineering that make this part of Italy what it is. We do one thing, and we have done it for more than 11 years without a break: the supervisory control systems industrial plants are run with. And everything needed to do it we write ourselves: the applications, the generators, the documentation, the development tooling.
01 What we run
Large systems, distributed, that do not stop.
Most of our work is not single-screen applications: it is systems with millions of process variables, spread across several sites and often several countries, running services whose interruption is felt outside the plant fence. That changes how they have to be designed, tested and supported.

Scale
Millions of process variables, tens or hundreds of sites on a single control centre, archives that must stay queryable for years. At this scale the data model and archiving choices matter more than any single screen.

Geographic distribution
Nodes in different plants and different countries, joined by wide-area links. Latency, loss of link and recovery are not faults to be handled once: they are the normal operating condition, and the system is designed from there.

Redundancy and continuity
Redundant servers and distributed architectures, with switchover proven during acceptance rather than merely claimed. Updates and maintenance happen without taking the view away from the operator.

Critical infrastructure
Drinking water, energy, oil and gas: plants where an outage has consequences downstream and where the supervisory system is part of the service, not an accessory.

The infrastructure underneath
Virtualisation, domains, industrial networks and their segmentation, backup and restore. It is not what we sell, but the system has to be designed and commissioned inside that infrastructure: we can read it and talk about it with the people who run it, rather than handing over and hoping.
02 How we work
The standard comes after your product, not before it.
A development standard is not taken off a shelf: it is built on top of the process, the machine or the plant of whoever will use it, and it is judged by how well it holds up on the next contract. It is a good part of our work, and over the years we have built a fair number of them, each different from the others because the product it had to describe was different.

Plant owners and operators
The standard becomes the company’s internal language: naming, colours, display hierarchy, the way an alarm is handled. It is what makes the tenth plant look like the first, and what spares the people running it from relearning everything at every new site.

Machine builders
Here the supervisory application is part of the machine and leaves the works together with it, many times a year. The standard is what makes the delivery repeatable: what genuinely changes is changed, everything else stays identical, documentation and commissioning included.

Integrators and in-house teams
The team is theirs and they write the system themselves. The standard is what makes contracts built by different people in different years resemble one another, and what stops the same groundwork being redone every time. What we build together stays their property.
03 Partnership and compliance

Interial is a recognised member of the WinCC OA Community Program, holding the SIMATIC WinCC OA Integrator qualification.
The people writing the code are certified.
The partner qualification is about the company; this one is about the people. Our developers have followed the platform’s official training path to its last level, the one that opens the API Toolkit: from there on, drivers and managers are not only configured, they are written.

Certified WinCC OA Basic Training
The entry course, a prerequisite for the other two: datapoint model, panels, CTRL scripting, field drivers, alarms and archiving. It is the ground a WinCC OA project is built on.

Certified WinCC OA Engineer Workshop
The platform’s internal mechanics: diagnosis, performance tuning, communication between managers, and what to do and not do in CTRL. This is the level at which you understand why a large system slows down.

Certified WinCC OA Developer Workshop
The API Toolkit: drivers, managers and CTRL extensions written in C++. It is the certification that allows the platform to be extended when what the project needs is not already there, instead of working around it.
The three certifications are issued by ETM professional control (Siemens), the company that develops WinCC OA: they are training credentials, verifiable at source. Official course descriptions
